shitate pro blocks Version 1.5.0We have also released the latest version of the theme in shitateconjunction with the release of the new version of the product.

1.0.1

Have a brand color (Primary) for each style variation

Until now, the four variations of Dark / Mono / Cream / Mist were fixed at the default blue #2952cc. Therefore, even when choosing Mono, the buttons and links remained blue, and in Dark, the contrast between the button text on a dark background was reduced to 2.4:1. We have made each variation have its own Primary and Primary hover, ensuring a contrast of 4.5:1 or more for all text and button text.

VariationsPrimaryHover
Dark#7f9cea#a3b8f0
Mono#1a1a1a#444444
Cream#8a4f14#6f3f10
Mist#257556#1f6449

The blue color in the default (theme.json) remains unchanged.

Auto-follow of derived colors does not override variation specifications.

Immediately after applying the variation, there was a path to recalculate the calculation by determining that the variation had assigned a derived color such as Primary hover. If the source color (base / contrast / primary / accent) fully matched with one of the included palettes, the derived color in that file was corrected, and recalculation was only performed when the site owner edited the source color.

A bug in Safari that prevents fluid ratios from working

Safari 26.5 unifies the screen width without units tan(atan2(100vw, 1px)) To evaluate it as 0, it was fixed at the "ratio on small screens" ratio across all screen widths. We changed the method to pass it in absolute px via a registered custom property, and now the ratio opens on wide screens even in Safari. The results in Chrome/Firefox remain unchanged.

1.0.2

Changed PHP declaration to 7.4

style.css と readme.txt の Requires PHP We have changed it from 7.2 to 7.4.shitate Since it is based on WordPress 7.0 or higher, the actual lower limit is already 7.4 by default. The declaration is adjusted to the actual situation, and it does not mean that the operating environment has become narrower.Requires at least(WordPress 7.0) is stable.

I have tested it to work with PHP 8.5.3.

I have verified that the front-end templates are drawn correctly, the customizer is registered, the filter for derived colors is available, and the image loading hints and pattern registration are available in PHP 8.5.3, and I have confirmed that no warnings or deprecation notices are issued.

The ratio has become one.

We have made all lines of text size and margins calculated from a single ratio. The ratio smoothly changes between screen widths of 375px and 1260px, ensuring that the ratio of lines on both smartphones and PCs is consistent. The “Typography Scale” customization has been added to “Small Screen Ratio,” allowing you to choose the ratio for smartphones separately from the one for PCs.

Comes with base reset

We have added a minimal reset CSS that mitigates the visual differences across browsers. Since everything is written with zero specificity, it won't interfere with your CSS. Filter if you don't need it shitate_use_reset It can be disabled.

Other additions

  • Europe Includes translations in 6 languages (German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese)
  • Switch the font stack based on the page language. On the Japanese site, it is displayed in the order Hiragino Sans → Yu Gothic → Meiryo.
  • Added the "small character numerical specification" customization option (fix the minimum value to 0.95rem / 0.8rem / 0.75rem). Default is off
  • Added "Performance → Optimize image loading" to the customizer. Default is off to avoid interference with speedup plugins.
  • Common transition (0.2 seconds) for elements with hover effects

Fixes

  • A problem where the button and link colors remained the default blue in the style variations (Dark / Mono / Cream / Mist).
  • A problem that the aspect ratio was fixed for small screens in Safari
  • An issue where iframe elements like Google Maps pasted into custom HTML blocks were fixed to a fixed width.
  • Fixed an issue where the menus and "close" button were out of place in the new navigation overlay in WordPress 7.1

1.0.3

The post title has been added to the list of posts.

We have added h1 to the list of posts (index template). In "Settings → Display Settings", the title of the fixed page you selected on the post page becomes the headline, and when it is not set, it will display "Blog". In the site editor, it is rewritten as the usual headline block.

The wording that could not be translated has been removed.

We transferred the five places in the template that were written in English (the instructions when there are no posts, the instructions when there are no search results, the labels and buttons on the search form, and the "Tags:" tag) into a pattern, and included translations in Japanese and six European languages.

The overall layout width will follow the change.

The content width and wide-sized tokens now refer to the settings in the site editor "Style → Layout". When the width is changed, the type scale ratio also changes to the same position where it reaches its maximum. Previously, it was fixed at 1260px.

Fixes

  • With header and footer template parts
Fixed an issue where two outputs were being generated
  • Limit the "text size" saving value to 12-24px, and ensure the same inspection is performed when migrating from the old settings.
  • Added guard when accessing the pattern file directly
  • Name the internal pattern hidden- Unification at the beginning (footer-credit → hidden-footer-credit、404-content → hidden-404)

Attention when updating.

Sites that are storing the header footer 404 template in the site editor will have the saved content take precedence. If the footer credits and 404 text are removed after updating, choose "Clear customization" in the corresponding template or replace the pattern name with a new one.

1.0.4

We added 12 more patterns that were built using only core blocks.

Company introduction, contact information, frequently asked questions, three features, two heroes (cover type and split-side), latest news, pricing 3 plans, six services, three steps, member introduction, and 12 testimonials. Everything is built using standard WordPress blocks, so you can use it even if you don’t have pro blocks. The sample text includes Japanese and six European languages (German, French, West Germanic, Italian, Portuguese, and Galician), and it switches to match the language of your site.

You can instantly change the font and size in the editor.

In the "Typography" panel of paragraphs, headings, post titles, lists, citations, and buttons, "Font" and "Appearance (Thickness & Style)" are now displayed from the beginning. Previously, these were hidden in the "+" menu. The site-wide default is set in the "Style → Typography" section of the site editor as before; this is used to adjust at the block level.

Optimization of Japanese typesetting (customizer)

We have added "Optimizing Japanese typesetting" to the "Typography Scale" of the customizer (default is off). When turned on, it applies strict hyphenation (no lowercase letters or diacritics at the beginning), automatic hyphenation between Japanese and English characters, and a palatt of initials and kanji to the body text only when the site's language is Japanese. It does not apply to code blocks.

Vertical spacing has been scaled in accordance with the type scale ratio.

The spacing between blocks is now determined by the product of the ratio r, the same as the letter size. The gap between overlapping blocks is gap × r, the gap before and after images, tables, and citations is gap × r²; the gap before subheadings is gap × r³; and the gap before large headings is gap × r⁴. If you change the ratio, the spacing will also move, and in places like the middle of the card, it will automatically fill in. The spacing between navigation and button columns remains unchanged. The overall spacing has been increased by one round, so please check the page after updating.

In addition to that

  • Fixed an issue where the first line of title and body text in the post/fixed page editor were overlapping.
  • Expanded the WordPress.org theme tags to 18 and revised the theme description.
  • Fixed a path error in the Resources section of the readme file

1.0.5

This is a revised version that takes into account the overall look of the template, the details of the text, and the lightness of loading. We redesigned the post page and list templates, adapted the navigation to the conventions of domestic themes, and compressed the CSS into a single file.

Read the post page in a reading layout

We have added a dedicated post-only template called single-post. It is limited to 42rem (approx. 672px) width, and it is arranged in a row with breadcrumbs, categories, titles, author/date/read time meta lines, and 16:9 catchphrases. After the body of the post, there are tags, author boxes, previous and subsequent posts, and comments. Fixed pages and other post types remain as single-post. Sites that are editing single posts in the site editor will switch to the new layout only for the post (other post types will remain as they are).

List cards are in one type, layouts are in 3 types

We have reorganized the list of posts pages, archives, and search results using only core blocks. Cards are one type: "16:9 eye-catching image → category chip and date → title to be omitted in 2 lines → excerpt to be omitted in 2 lines". As a block style for the post template, we have prepared "Cards, first post large" (1 item on the grid width; for the next 2 pages and narrower widths, it is a normal card), "List" (images on the left 1/3, text on the right, separated by a border), and "Rows" (1 line for date, chip, and title. For announcements). We have also arranged the default posts page to be 1 item large, and the archive and search results are a list.shitate pro blocks

The post page header is now in a 2-column layout that wraps around the fixed page excerpt, and below that is a “All” category with posts grouped by tip (the current location is colored). The same column appears in the category archive. We’ve also added a pattern for the announcement section: “News rows” (header, 5 latest entries, and a link to the list). The pagination is centered, and the numbered buttons are 36px rounded buttons.

Navigating to the domestic-themed style

The "Captioned" navigation block style has been added. It displays a small caption below each item (the text in the "Description" field of navigation links; it works the same way as the description of menu items in the classic theme). The hover and current page brand color bars, the dropdown are shaded panels, and the mobile menu has numbered rows. There are also "Underline" without a caption and "Button" (filled) and "Outline" (frame) for the right-end contact button navigation links. "Captioned" is the header for new installations.

We decided on the details of the text.

We have made the parts that used to be left to the core default style common to all sites. The link underlines are thin, slightly spaced from the text, and the link color is 45% in intensity (100% with a hover). Citations are thin vertical borders with small source text, pull quotes are bold with thin borders on both sides, the table is on a single horizontal border with thick lines, the numbers are uniform width. Captions are small with an intermediate color, the separator lines are thin borders, the code blocks are thin fonts on a single-width surface, and inline code is a small chip. The color of the borders is a new variable –st-color-rule that automatically derives from the palette and follows any style variations.

The vertical rhythm is in units of "lines," and the margin is a fixed value.

In the text, the paragraph spacing between paragraphs has been set to one line of text, and the spacing before images, tables, and citations is 1.5 lines, before h3/h4 is 1.5 lines, before h1/h2 is 2 lines, immediately before the heading is 0.5 lines. The “widening by the product of proportions” method introduced in 1.0.4 has been removed because the width of the margin expanded too much when the ratio was increased. The scale of the margin (–st-space-xxs〜xxxl) has also been set to a fixed value of 4/8/12/16/24/40/64/104px, and the type scale only moves the text size.

The editor's "shitateSettings" panel

We have added a "shitateSettings" panel to the sidebar of the post and fixed page editing screens. This page can change the type scale ratio and text size only, and the changes are immediately reflected in the editor. For pages starting with a unique hero, "Do not output page title" is also available in the same panel.

Lightly load the data

We compressed the theme’s CSS into a single file (4 files 34KB → 1 file 17KB), and removed unused core default color, gradient, and shadow presets from the CSS (new installation global styles are 18KB → 10KB). The blocks style CSS is only output to pages that use that style. The original CSS file is included, so if your site has SCRIPT_DEBUG enabled, it will be read from that.

Notes for updating

  • On sites that are saving the single post in the site editor, only the post will be switched to the new single post. To return to the old post, please edit and save the single post in the site editor.
  • If articles created with other themes use the core default color (has-vivid-red-color, etc.), that color will disappear. Please repaint it in the theme palette.
  • Since CSS is now in a single file, specifying to remove shitate-reset / shitate-utilities / shitate-style individually is no longer effective. To revert to the traditional 4-file configuration, use add_filter( ‘shitate_use_bundle’, ‘__return_false’ ).

1.0.6

  • We have upgraded the PHP required for operation to 8.3 or higher (previously it was 7.4 or higher). On servers that are not PHP 8.3, WordPress will stop updating and activating themes. Before updating, please check the PHP version in the server management panel.
  • I replaced the screenshot of the theme with the top page of the revamped official website.

1.0.7

  • We’ve added a new pattern: “Posts, first post large.” This displays the latest 1 post next to the image, with a large card containing the text on the side. The next 3 posts are displayed in 3 columns. The title also includes a “See list” link.
  • In the individual page and fixed page templates other than posts, we have removed the rounded corners of the eye-catching image. If you want to add the rounded corners, please select the eye-catching block in the site editor and set the "rounded corners" option.
  • The icon image for the "Three features with icons" pattern has been saved in the same format in both WordPress 7.0 and 7.1. When inserting the pattern, the editor no longer automatically resizes the image.
  • In the Editor's "shitateSettings" panel, I adjusted the spacing between the items.

Typography Scale

Changes apply to this page instantly and are remembered in your browser only. Nothing is saved on the site.

Bigger ratio = more contrast between headings (like typescale.com).

The ratio used at 375px wide. The scale eases from this to the main ratio by 1260px, so type and spacing tighten on phones without media queries.

Body text size. The whole scale is built from this.

Snaps every text step to even pixels (2px).

Sets Small / X-Small / XX-Small to 0.95rem / 0.8rem / 0.75rem instead of dividing by the ratio, which can make them too small to read.
